The description for SR4 doesn't even sound like a new game. It still sounds like a DLC pack for SR3, and it looks like it too.
SR4 has all the ingredients needed to be a massive bomb:
No innovation from previous installment? Check
Little to no new gameplay? Check
Recycled game assets? Check
More terrible writing and insultingly immature content? Check
Rushed development time? Check
Release date a mere 3 weeks before the release of the highly anticipated next installment of the biggest sandbox title in the business? Check
Yea, it's going down in flames.
After the worthless waste of money that was SR3, I had a tiny ray of hope that Volition might realize how terrible SR3 was and redeem themselves with SR4, but that's gone.
I suppose it was naive to think, even for a second, that anyone at Volition would actually put forth effort when they could, instead, hand out crayons to third graders and let them write the story, AND dialogue no less, and then just plug the third graders' work into SR3's game engine, and then get back to their normal routine of spending every day at the office drunk as a skunk instead of trying to make a good game.
